It was a delight to stitch up this sweet ensemble for my baby girl… how is she almost 1?! She’s my third baby yet I am still shocked at how quickly they learn & grow. But I digress… this post is all about the girly cuteness designed by Jilly Atlanta.
This was my first time stitching up a Jilly Atlanta pattern, but she has so many beautiful options in her shop, that I am sure it won’t be the last. The Flora bundle includes a sweet buttoned diaper cover and a button top with the options for pin-tucking or sheer overlay. It is sized 0-12 months. My daughter wears 9-12 months in ready to wear & I made the 12 month according to the measurements chart. I feel the fit is just right. This pattern was very clearly written with bright photos to lead you along each step.
I chose to make the pin-tucked top in one of my favorite fabrics from Lecien, Princess Rose Large Floral Bouquet Dots in Grey. With french and fully enclosed seams, the finish is very professional looking.
The diaper cover is made with a beautiful solid fabric from Art Gallery called Verve Violet. The trim is from my stash & coordinates just perfectly to add a little bit of fancy to the already lovely shape of the buttoned front. Fabric covered buttons that I made myself with another print from Lecien’s Princess Rose line are my favorite. A little bit of fussy cutting made for perfectly placed rose buttons.
I really love the completed look of this pattern & see several more summer tops in my future for this little one. How gorgeous would this be made in voile or double gauze?! A diaper cover made in bucks or anchors would make a sweet little baby boy gift.
